GUEST SERVICES AGENT*This position is for the entire season, ending October 31st.FUNCTION: To ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction to all guests, groups and social event guests upon arrival at the lodge, assisting them during their stay, and booking their next reservation.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Creating high levels of guest satisfaction through dedication to customer service in all guest interactions.
  • Handle all incoming reservations in a prompt and courteous manner using upselling techniques to maximize room rates.
  • Promote recreation activities and outlets to guests
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, and hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities
  • Provides guests with information such as local restaurants, attractions and directions within Muskoka area
  • Resolves minor guest complaints to the satisfaction of the guest; informs supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or unhappy guests.
  • Reviews daily front office work and activity reports generated by Night Audit Review.
  • Front office communication book on a daily basis
  • Handles departmental accounting of monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit; posts all charges; completes payments report, prepares deposits.
  • Prepare welcome letters, guest room deliveries before guest arrival
  • Continually support all marketing and merchandising strategies, supporting resort goals and activities.
  • Promotes Lodge facilities, Dining Room, Golf and special events
  • Ongoing attention to property security and maintenance conditions.
  • Ongoing administrative duties as needed
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
  • Performs related tasks and participate in special projects as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Hospitality related post-secodary education preferred
  • 2+ years front desk experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • 1+ years customer service experience preferred
Skills:
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and shifts vary from days, mid-shift and evenings. Hours of department from 7am-11pm daily.
  • Exceptionally strong guest service skills to ensure superior guest service
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry
  • Able to work in a fast pase environment, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Able to lift, carry, move 11 to 29 pounds, frequently 30 to 49 pounds, occasionally 50 to 75 pounds
