Job Description

Located in scenic Ben Eoin, Nova Scotia our beautiful resort offers lush accommodations surrounded by four seasons of activity. World-class golf, sailing, skiing, beaches and hiking are all at your fingertips when you stay at the Lakes at Ben Eoin Golf Club & Resort. The Lakes offers an in-house restaurant Founders where creativity meets culinary excellence.The line cook will work in various areas of the culinary operations of the resort including the main dining room, room service, golf operations, special events, weddings, and other functions. Line cooks will exhibit a standard of excellence while maintaining and abiding by all industry standards, policies and procedures set forth by management as well as any applicable government regulations. This position will report to the Restaurant Manager will ensure excellence in food quality, food preparation, sanitation and food standards are being met.Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Work flexible hours, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special event dining
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Follows directions and instructions
  • High School or GED Diploma
  • 1-2 years experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
Part-time hours: 30-40 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentSalary: $16.00-$16.50 per hourAdditional pay:
