Job Description

Our range of specialized services has made our reputation in Canada.Come move mountains with us!EBC is actively seeking an experienced Scheduler for our Ontario division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be stationed at the project site in Greater Toronto Area. The Scheduler will be responsible for project scheduling and planning, updating the schedule monthly, providing the monthly schedule narrative, and supporting the development of claims for extension of time and integration of contract changes into the project schedule. The responsibilities of the Technical Manager include:

  • Ability to understand construction drawings and sequence
  • Develop baseline schedule and maintain monthly progress update schedule
  • Coordinate with the project manager and site to get the monthly updates
  • Ability to resource load the schedule with material, labor and cost
  • Maintain project schedules and providing complex planning/scheduling activities throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects, ensuring deployment of resources, cost
  • Coordinate all inputs, reviews required for a functional schedule; establish logic, floats and interfaces for all activities and denoting important milestones.
  • Review project activities (actual versus planned), and forecasting completion schedules based on a variety of information sources
  • Use project scheduling software to prepare and update schedules, change sequencing and duration of project activities, and provide progress reports to
  • stakeholders
  • Review vendor, sub-contractor and consultant schedule submitting and incorporating them into overall project schedules, while maintaining business relationships with all partners.
  • Provide regular risk assessments, analyzing schedule changes, determining causes, identifying mitigation/recovery strategies and opportunities to accelerate completion of the work.
  • Create what if scenarios as required to assist the management in making key strategic decisions.
RequirementsSkills and Qualifications
  • University degree in construction or civil engineering.
  • Management training and AACE certification is considered an asset.
  • 7 years of related work experience in a planning/scheduling capacity, with construction industry (especially infrastructure)
  • Understanding of project planning methodology in schedule development and sequencing, with solid foundations in project control concepts (WBS, CPM based, earned value management and cost collecting, risk assessment).
  • 7 years or more with Highly proficient in Primavera Scheduling and software applications.
  • Knowledge of linear schedule (TILOS) or similar.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Proper understanding of Earned Value Management.
