Front End Designer – Remote We are seeking up to eight skilled professionals to join a government initiative driving digital transformation and service modernization. The Province of Alberta’s Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) leads these efforts by utilizing innovative human-centered design, agile methodologies, and modern data practices to enhance service delivery for Albertans. Collaborating with government ministries, 3D works to simplify, innovate, and deliver exceptional user experiences in public services.These positions involve contributing to program reviews, service innovations, and digital transformation projects. Successful candidates will engage in a variety of activities, including research, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and developing creative, evidence-based design solutions.What is in it for you:• Salaried: $87 to $91 per hour.• Incorporated Business Rate: $98 to $102 per hour.• 12-month contract with a maximum extension term of 24 months.• Full-time position: 36.25 hours per week.• Remote work: Primarily remote, with occasional travel within Alberta.• Join a passionate and inclusive team of professionals.Responsibilities:• Deliver creative, evidence-based front-end design solutions aligned with corporate design standards.• Develop prototypes, wireframes, style guides, and design specifications for various platforms.• Plan and conduct design research activities and usability testing.• Provide justifiable recommendations to align stakeholders, including program areas and senior management.• Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.• Analyze and recommend solutions to ensure accessibility and compliance with relevant standards.• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver services that are efficient, effective, and user-centric.What you will need to succeed:• 2+ years of experience as a Front-End Designer, designing and enhancing services via web and other platforms.• 2+ years of experience working within a cross-functional product team in an Agile environment.• 2+ years of experience developing UX artifacts, including streamlined scenarios, storyboards, and design documentation.• 2+ years of experience building and maintaining component libraries and design systems.• 2+ years of experience exploring multiple design solutions to solve a given problem or feature.• 2+ years of experience in production design for multiple digital devices (web, mobile, etc.).• 2+ years of experience using accessibility standards and principles, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).• 2+ years of experience with current methodologies and design thinking, particularly for digital service delivery.• 2+ years of proficiency with frontend design applications such as Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Figma.• 2+ years of experience working as a Front-End Designer on government projects.• 2+ years of experience working in a dedicated public sector central digital office (e.g., central digital delivery teams).Why Recruit ActionRecruit Action (agency permit: AP-2000003) provides recruitment services through quality support and a personalized approach to job seekers and businesses.
