Dexcent Inc. has an opportunity for a Leak Detection Specialist to join our growing team. The preferred candidate would be located in Edmonton, AB as this will be an onsite work model and the individual will participate in a 24/7 on-call backup support rotation. As such, we pride ourselves on truly transforming industrial operations to optimize business performance and deliver bottom-line results.About the Role:This position is accountable for configuring, maintaining, quality assurance testing, and tuning leak detection Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) systems, and related technologies, to achieve optimal leak detection performance in compliance with applicable regulatory, internal, and pipeline specific requirements for our client.Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of CPM based leak detection systems, including testing, tuning, commissioning, and installation of production systems.
• Monitors production leak detection systems, performs root cause analysis, and implements required updates following Management of Change processes.
• Completes leak detection system checks to ensure continuous operations of systems.
• Participates in rotational 24/7 on-call backup support to Control Centre Leak Detection Analysts.
• Reviews and regularly updates all leak detection model documentation to ensure latest standards and review cycles are followed. Recommends new or improved documentation and standards.
• Evaluates leak detection systems and develops recommendations to Leak Detection Management for additional instrumentation to achieve improved performance with appropriate justification; and assists with submissions into capital budget cycles and long-range planning program.
• Delivers onboarding and mentorship to junior members of the Leak Detection Team.
• Participates in incident reviews, risk assessments, provides technical input and completes assigned corrective and risk mitigation actions.
• Provides information and technical expertise in responding to regulatory requests.

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer, with 6 years of experience with hydraulic and computer programming experience. Equivalent Computer Science, Technology or Systems Analyst will be considered.
• Credit may be given for higher degrees including MSc, Meng, and PhD.
• Advanced pipeline hydraulics knowledge and experience is necessary.
• Previous experience using real-time transient model software and/or statistical modeling software.
• Demonstrated ability to program software in a complex multi-system environment.
• Understanding of North American leak detection related regulatory requirements such as API-1130, API-1149, API-1175, CSA Z662 Annex E.

Preferred:

• Working expertise in DNV Synergi Pipeline Simulator, Atmos Pipe/Wave, and/or Emerson Pipeline Manager
• Knowledge of Control Centre operations and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of SharePoint, VISIO, JIRA, and PI.
