More information about GreenPath can be found on our website at https://greenpathenergy.com/.Field Technician Job Description / Responsibilities are as followed, but not limited to:GreenPath Energy is currently looking for individuals for the Northern Alberta/ BC and Central Alberta area.

  • Technicians will travel to sites provided by clients to conduct fugitive emission surveys
  • All applicants must have a strong understanding of mid/upstream oil and gas processes
  • This includes a high-level understanding of compressors the ability to identify pneumatic & control devices
  • Use optical gas imaging to detect fugitive emission sources, including but not limited to FLIR cameras
  • We utilize a variety of different meters (Calscan, Hi-Flow Samplers, etc.) to measure methane sources
  • Our technicians are detail-oriented individuals and will have the ability to work alone or with a team
  • A good understanding the provincial and/or federal methane regulations that pertain to the region
  • GreenPath energy is a very safety conscious company, and we cultivate a culture of safety for our clients, and our staff.
  • Willingness to be away from home, staying in hotels or camps, and working outside under a variety of conditions
  • Maintain positive working relationship with client contacts, suppliers, and contractors
  • Professionally represent Greenpath Energy at client facilities and while driving company vehicles
  • Complete comprehensive Job Safety Analysis at job locations
  • Perform and document calibration of monitoring instrument as required
  • Map reading skills to locate facilities and specific equipment within a facility. (Proficiency with paper maps, GPS systems, and legal sub-division coordinate systems are an asset.)
  • Ability to drive on public and private unpaved roads in various weather conditions. (Experience on radio-controlled roads an asset)
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on monitoring equipment, Android tablets, GPS devices, personal gas monitors, etc
Education and Experience Minimum RequirementsIndividuals with an Instrumentation or Operator background will be preferred. Strong computer skills and a high level of comfort working with technology are required. We are ideally looking for applicants from the Northern Alberta /Bc or Central Alberta areas, but all submissions will be reviewed.Applicants must have a driver’s license.
  • 0-2 years of industrial experience working in oil & gas industry
  • Proficient with Google and Microsoft office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Must possess good driving record and a valid driver’s license
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to Grande Prairie or Central Alberta (no relocation package)
  • Resourcefulness, flexibility, and resiliency to operate in a dynamic work environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated)
  • Excellence in communication and collaboration skills that facilitate detailed planning, timely decision-making, and efficient implementation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50-75% of the time to remote locations
  • Willingness and ability to work for extended periods of time outdoors in various weather conditions (Note: Current monitoring technology does not work in heavy rain, heavy snow, temperatures below -15°C, or temperatures above +40°C. But outdoor work is expected in all other weather conditions.)
