Job Description

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a Blending, Forming, and Pressing (BFP) and Technical Coordinator for our OSB facility located in Edson, AB.We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, excellent work ethic & a desire to work in a manufacturing facility.This position is eight (8) hour days, Monday to Friday.Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and monitors a program of quality checks, testing, and data collection to ensure compliance with standards for all products produced in the plant and conformity of all incoming raw materials.
  • Leads and participates in all process and product improvement initiatives and new product development.
  • Route Cause Analysis (RCA) owner for the area.
  • Removes barriers to the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Owns and updates safe work procedures for the area.
  • Owns identification and prioritization of work to address to safety, reliability, and quality issues for the area.
  • Promotes the use of process reliability concepts throughout the mill.
  • Orders all resin and wax, and is responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Supports the goals and objectives of the Technical team and provides coverage for the Technical Manager.
  • Ensures the accuracy of records and provides applicable documentation regarding quality and production.
  • Ownership and commitment to safety and risk assessments.
  • Communicates and works with vendors on continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • A post-secondary degree in Wood Technology or Science is an asset. In-lieu of degree, a combination of directly related experience and/or diploma will be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Capable of thinking logically and critically, with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize daily work and ensure completion of all critical tasks.
  • Motivation, initiative, and a strong desire for personal growth and learning.
  • Demonstrates the ability to focus on continuous improvement, the development of innovative ideas, and the improvement of systems.
  • Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and process flow thinking to troubleshoot manufacturing/production upsets.
  • Attention to detail is required to ensure customers are receiving high quality product.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing conditions and multiple priorities.
