The incumbent is responsible for the overall performance of the service operation across all branches, enterprise wide, resulting in organic growth and profitability of our Ag dealership.The successful incumbent will proactively recruit the best talent, lead, inspire and develop future leaders across existing Ag West branches resulting in the achievement of business performance targets while ensuring alignment with our vision & mission. This includes driving and maintaining an excellent customer experience and safety culture across our organization ensuring operational excellence/continuous innovation and improvements within our service operations throughout our Ag West enterprise.Ag West branches include: Elie, Brandon, Neepawa, Portage, Morden, Steinbach and Russel

  • Drive growth and improved profitability across service operations; Collaborate with Ag West leaders, branch supervisors on potential improvements
  • Budget planning, Reforecasting
  • Ongoing operational performance assessment
  • Statement analysis review for revenue growth and margin improvements
  • Proactive, effective expense control
  • Recommend/justify capital expenditures for facilities within operating budget and established authority
  • Recruit, orientate, train , coach/inspire, recognize and develop the best leadership talent ensuring a safe and positive, energized customer focused work environment consistent with our Company Mission, vision and values; Conduct value added performance appraisals, disciplinary actions as needed
  • Ensure company values are lived and our compliance with relevant legislation and policies, practices.
  • Effective, timely and frequent responsiveness and cascading of communication to all stakeholders/employees/leaders. Plan and facilitate informal and formal team meetings to share news, information, celebrate team and individual performance;
  • Invite and respond to continual feedback about opportunities to elevate our customer experience or any other aspect of our business. Ensure active social committee activities to promote teamwork, strong positive team relations etc.
  • Provide corporate / HR with insight to competitor compensation and proactively review compensation matters to ensure equitable and competitive compensation practices and strong talent retention
Champion our Ag West vision, leadership direction, guidance and appropriate support to parts and service leaders and their teams ensuring:
  • Continuous improvements resulting in operational excellence;
  • Ensure all performance goals and deliverables are “SMART” (Specific, measurable/motivating, action oriented, realistic and time bound) and are visited frequently with service ops leaders and their respective teams
  • Day to day operations such as effective, timely service and PM scheduling, effectively leveraging technicians and achieving utilization targets and lead by example in support of our operational excellence, safety, customer experience vision, values and targets.
  • Oversee quotes, review invoices & provide guidance, direction / decisions on work orders, warranty and goodwill matters as required
  • Proactive, timely review & evaluation of all aspects of the operations including but not limited to process, policy other efficiencies and physical branch requirements
  • Consistent collaboration, communication, engagement with and execution of H&S program requirements across branches leveraging our regional safety representative
  • Initiate, inspire and lead changes in support of continuous improvements within our operations.
  • Drive a customer centric culture across the operation. Lead and inspire leaders, and work closely with sales and operations teams to continue to earn, cultivate and maintain excellent customer relationships and loyalty through consistent delivery of positive experiences doing business with us.
  • Model the way, coaching and holding team accountable to deliver on the same; Treat our employees as valued customers and inspire and hold everyone to do the same.
  • Champion consistent, timely proactive and responsive communications with customers before during and after servicing their equipment with us.
  • Proactively visit customers and their locations/sites to enhance your knowledge of their business and demonstrate our commitment to partnering in their success
  • Proactively and effectively partner with appropriate stakeholders to promptly resolve any customer issues, concerns that arise
  • Participate in customer contract or other negotiations, and ensure timely, effective execution and administration of contracts
  • Collaborate with sales team, team leaders to ensure consistent and accurate messaging, quoting of customer maintenance and repairs
  • Develop parts and service sales skills, specifically around product knowledge, awareness of campaigns etc. to drive sales growth and margins;
  • Initiate internal promotions to enhance product and application knowledge enhancing customer experience and driving new business. (i.e. companion product sales, specials on products coming in season etc.)
  • Collaborate with OEMs, Marketing for sales driving promotions and internal / external information sharing/promotion; Authorize special pricing packages and discounting to drive business performance
  • Identify and execute on new business priorities / opportunities with key stakeholders
  • Review and recommend service pricing on new ventures
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships; monitor and ensure supplier terms remain fair and appropriate as aligned to our needs
  • Remain current about and provide relevant, timely information to VP, other key stakeholders about competitive activities, pricing etc. and make recommendations to ensure we remain competitive and profitable in all markets.
Job Qualifications :
  • Relevant successful leadership experience in a front line operations capacity (technical product line within highly customer centric front line branch operations dealership business model) with strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to lead sustainable needed change
  • Relevant academic qualifications: College/University Degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated integrity and ability to inspire and lead others by example and gain strong followership resulting in high employee engagement and performance
  • Demonstrated self-awareness, agility with strong KPI focus and execution track record
  • Proactive, continuous learner with demonstrated learning application
  • Excellent communication skills and written with the ability to collaborate effectively and gain support across all functional teams and levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with strategic and tactical abilities within a fast paced, demanding and competitive environment with multiple and changing priorities
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, effective decision making skills
  • Good data analysis with ability to interpretation and leverage key insights
  • Embraces and leverages technology resources with strong technical aptitude and proficiency with MS Office and quick to learn new systems.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Willing and able to work flexible business hours and travel in support of the business needs
