Job Description

Closing Date: April 19, 2023Reporting to the Coordinator, Sampling, the Water Sampler, Water Operations is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of site sampling plans, which involves accurate sampling, field measurements and the recording of sampling information. Water Samplers will be trained to work in all facilities and will be expected to rotate between facilities as needed.To be successful, we are looking for an energetic team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. This role requires an individual who can perform a variety of physical duties including heavy lifting, and who can remain positive and motivated while working outdoors in all weather conditions.This is a great opportunity to join a team of hardworking professionals in a growing and technically exciting field.   • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Execute regular sampling and field measurement procedures at all sites
  • Recognize when field results dictate further action, and inform correct personnel for possible process adjustment
  • Collect and prepare environmental and process samples for shipment to external labs
  • Follow the site laboratory quality management system, including procedures and standards; assist with data management when on shift, including data entry
  • Assist with lab supply inventory and flagging of any issues to ensure adequate supplies are ordered
  • Identify possible cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Maneuver sampling trailer to allow for sampling of open casing wells
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma; Post-Secondary Education is an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®, particularly Excel, and other data acquisition and management tools
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to travel to site depending on assigned facility
  • General knowledge of Water & Wastewater Treatment technology, processes; mechanical understanding of process equipment is an asset
  • Field sampling experience is an asset
