KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for general facility maintenance, equipment installation, preventive maintenanceamp; facility cleanliness at both plants
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other facility equipment
  • Address and repair any issues related to building infrastructure, such as lighting, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards. Maintain a safe working environment by following established safety procedures
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly and efficiently. Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
  • Responsible for the facility maintenance ticket system, including opening and closing tickets, and required reporting
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, equipment, and supplies. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks
  • Work closely with other departments and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to facility operations
  • Ensure safety, hygiene and clean appearance of the facility for employees and customers in the manufacturing area and other areas as assigned
  • Clean and maintain equipment and facilities in both the office and shop, including floors and general use areas, to uphold our reputation for an industry leading clean work environment. Use cleaning supplies and equipment, such as the ride on cleaner, as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining safe outdoor walkways and entrances including, but not limited to shovelingamp; salting during the winter
  • Complete basic maintenance and upgrades to the facilities, machinery, and equipment
  • Perform or coordinate maintenance and repair of OEM machinery equipment
  • Create, provide input into, and support adherence to facility maintenance and repair budgets
  • Report on equipment downtime and repair costs
  • Work with ownership and management on capital equipment planning
  • Be available for on-call emergencies and respond to urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours if necessary
  • Ensure healthamp; safety compliance of subcontractors onsite
  • Complete or support equipment startup, such as PSHR’s and pre-use inspections when required
  • Audit the equipment preventative maintenance program to ensure timely completion and adherence to requirements
  • Assist with shop and building improvement projects, including 5S, equipment procurement, and lean initiatives
  • Ensure PPE is available at entrance shop points
  • Accurate and timely completion of all daily paperwork
  • General housekeeping duties and tasks as they arise
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
  • All other duties as required
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in facilities maintenance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to be insured
  • Mechanical aptitude to help understand how to operate machinery and complete minor repairs
  • Familiar with MS Office software and basic computer use
  • Safety first mindset

  • Forklift truck and material handling experience an asset
