Job Description

Elora Mill Hotel & Spa is looking for hard working and enthusiastic individuals with incredible attention to detail and a passion for providing amazing service.The Laundry Attendant is a position integral to the success of the hotel and the maintenance of the facility. This position should be filled by someone who gains incredible satisfaction from looking at spotless, wrinkle-free linens and who loves clean laundry!Great attention to detail is an important skill, necessary in this role.Successful applicants must understand the importance of maintaining meticulous standards in a luxury hotel and possess excellent guest service skills. Hotel experience is an asset though we will provide training to the right candidates.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sort laundry into specific classifications for preparation of washing according to established standards and procedures.
  • Pre-treat any spots on dirty linens, towels, robes, etc.
  • Safely and efficiently operate the wash machines, dryers, and irons.
  • Press linens and fold according to demonstrated pattern.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and organized work area.
  • Ensure par levels of towels, linens, etc are replenished and ready for use in the guest rooms and spa.
  • Monitor equipment for damage and notify Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance.
  • Arrive to work promptly and in full uniform prepared with all necessary tools for the job.
Skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, scheduling and prioritizing work for self.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the team unit as well as with those outside of it, work together with others toward the common goal of success across the property.
  • Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Take direction and instruction well from the management teams making note of any special requests.
Working ConditionsWork Environment
  • Work is indoors
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment
Physical Effort
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 30 pounds without assistance
  • Capable of frequent bending, standing, and walking for extended periods of time (8-hour shifts)
Hours/Shifts
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment, including weekends, and holidays.
