Job Description

Under the direction of the Maintenance Worker I and the Manager, Facilities Management the Maintenance II maintains the facility grounds and assists with other maintenance duties as required within the physical plant and accompanying buildings. The Maintenance II assists, along with other maintenance personnel, in a preventative maintenance program, policy development as well as the ordering and controlling of supplies. The position of Maintenance II functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the mission, vision and values of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance.
  • Maintenance experience in a health care facility an asset. A combination of other education and related job experience may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in general carpentry, plumbing, painting, plastering, electrical, pneumatic and electronic controls and equipment maintenance.
  • Good written and verbal skills with a demonstrated ability to read ad interpret complex instructions, including manufacturers’ directions.
  • Must have basic computer literacy skills. Previous experience with a computerized maintenance system an asset.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good physical and mental health to meet the demands to the position.
  • Valid Manitoba Class “5” drivers’ license.
  • Satisfactory employment record.
