The successful candidate is responsible to safely and efficiently carry out the duties of Lab Operator I with minimum direction and supervision.What will you contribute

• Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple demands.
• Carry out all analysis/test procedures required for process control, shipping samples, environmental samples, mine samples, basic water analysis and other samples as required.
• Use lab computer system to update and maintain daily analysis data files.
• Operate analysis equipment and perform routine calibrations and adjustments.
• Calibrate basic analysis equipment.
• Prepare routine standard solutions.
• Assist in adapting present lab procedures to fit new requirements as required.
• Maintain all required laboratory statistics and records.
• Understand and apply MSDS information.
• Recognize and identify discrepancies in analysis and procedures and resolve these if appropriate.
• Workdays, afternoon and night shift as required or on a rotating basis.
• Work effectively with a minimum amount of supervision in the Laboratory at K2.
• Diligently adhere to all relevant legal environmental requirements.
• Diligently ensure that all relevant OH&S requirements and in-house safety regulations are complied with.

This position is located at Esterhazy K1. Esterhazy, Canada (Union) Esterhazy is home to our flagship potash site and mines one of the best ore deposits in the world. Two sites, K1 and K2 (named after the element symbol for potassium ‘K’) have supplied potash to global customers for decades.Currently, a third mine is being built, sensibly named K3. Underground mining operations at K1 and K2 ended in June 2021. An overland conveyance system carries K3 ore to the existing K1 and K2 mills. As development continues at K3, operations will incrementally shift to the new, state-of-the-art mine.Esterhazy K3 Project - The K3 Project, located in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, is next door to our existing K1 and K2 sites. K3 is the third mine to be built in Esterhazy. In June 2021, underground miningoperations at K1 and K2 shifted over to K3. An overland conveyance system carries K3 ore to the existing K1 and K2 mills. As development continues at K3, underground operations will incrementally shift to the new, state-of-the-art mine.Some of the required PPE includes:

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following:

• Grade 12 / GED
• Post-secondary education in a chemistry related field, preferably completed two years Industrial Laboratory Technologist Course from a recognized institution.
• Preferably a minimum of one-year related laboratory experience.
• Understanding of refinery process sample terminology.
• Working knowledge of at least one computer system (DOS, WINDOWS).
• Understanding of basic instrumental methods of analysis including Atomic Absorption, Automatic Titrators, Flame Photometry, pH meters, UV/Visible Spectrophotometer, X-RAY Fluorescence, etc.
• Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaics pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing
• Must be authorized to work in Canada
