Job Description

We are committed to working together and to getting everyone home safe every day.Tundra is seeking to fill a Field Operator position in our SE Saskatchewan field – Estevan, Portal and Steelman areas. A Field Operator is responsible for performing routine operating functions and troubleshooting on all equipment. A Field Operator is also responsible for testing and monitoring oil wells using correct procedures, identifying deficiencies, and recommends corrective recommendations to existing procedures to ensure the assigned field meets performance standards.Reporting to the Production Foreman some specific duties and responsibilities of a Field Operator include, but are not limited to:Daily well checks and inspecting equipment to ensure it is running properlyMinor maintenance on equipment including company truck and tools.Monitor storage capacities and coordinate truckingWell testing – obtain samples and readings and maintain log books.Entering data into PVRPiggingChemical circulations and monitor chemical ratesMaintain good relations with landowners.Respond to call outs and emergency alarmsResponsible for reporting spillsComplete Problem Well ReportsComplete Hazard ID’s and Near Misses.Expected to obtain battery knowledge and experienceResponsible for providing assistance and training to new OperatorsIssuing permits to contractors and crewsExpected to contribute to Safety and Operator MeetingsCandidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:High School Diploma is requiredValid Driver’s License is requiredMinimum of 1 to 3 years operating, or a minimum of 2 years applicable oilfield experience is requiredMust possess the following:Basic mathematical skillsBe team player mindedPossess strong attention to detail skillsProblem solving abilitiesGood judgement and be safety consciousStrong mechanical skillsThe following certifications are considered assets: H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, ATV Safety Course, WHMIS, and TDGSAIT PFO – completed Level A; completion of Levels B and C would be considered an assetMust conform to facial hair standards for wearing respiratory protective equipment as required by EnformRequired to drive to a variety of work sites using company vehicles including all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, etc.The successful candidate will be exposed to all weather conditions and to potential hazards e.g. toxic chemicals such as hydrogen sulphideRequired to work under stress and to handle emergency situationsAdhere to the safety accountabilities as per Tundra’s Safety PolicyWe recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
