Job Description

The Instrument Technician performs various duties for the installation, calibration, commissioning, maintenance and repair of apparatus and instruments associated with the measurement, data transfer, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), pressure regulation and quality control work associated with the gas transmission/distribution systems and facilities in accordance with standards, specifications and accepted industry practices.Qualified applicants will possess

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Provincial or Interprovincial Journeyperson Industrial Instrument Mechanic Certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (copy must accompany job applications).

  • This job is safety sensitive, and as such, is subject to the provisions of the Drug and Alcohol Policy (Pre-Employment or Pre-Placement for Safety Sensitive Positions).
  • The incumbent is required to be physically fit.
  • This job is routinely scheduled for standby.
  • This job is subject to callout situations.
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required on occasion.
  • This job requires significant travel time.
