Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors and operates the Calciner and Coal Dryer (e.g. hearth temperatures, alarms, gauges, etc.) using a computerized system
  • Cleans the Tipple, Coal Dryer, and Calciner, including the cleaning of the flu to ensure it is clear of slag and small particles
  • Performs walking inspections of the Plant, Coal Dryer, and Calciner which includes ascending and descending flights of stairs and ramps
  • Provide relief coverage for the Dozer Operator on weekends to push char, as well as relief coverage for the Char Load Out and Assistant Plant Operator positions when required
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work 12-hour shift rotations (days and nights)
  • Previous heavy industry experience is an asset
This position currently follows a 28-day shift rotation working day and night shifts from 7:00 to 7:00. The shift rotation is: 3 days, 2 off, 2 nights, 3 off, 2 days, 2 off, 3 nights, 2 off, 2 days, 3 off, 2 nights, 2 off.This position is located at the Plant Operation, located approximately 30 km from the city of Estevan. The successful candidate will be responsible for his/her own accommodations and transportation.Quick Apply
