JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition SummaryUnder the general direction of the Operations Superintendent, the Ops/Production Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the execution of production and logistic activities undertaken by front-line operational personnel in line with the schedule, standards and performance, cost and volume. Ensures quality business practices and standards are followed to achieve all set targets and organizational goals.Supervisor ResponsibilitiesThis position has supervisory responsibilities over other employees.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:Directly supervise, deploy personnel and plan equipment for Mine operations based on weekly plans, production targets and requirements of customer using quality standards and safe, efficient, environmentally acceptable mining practices;Carry out regular safety and environmental inspections of all areas to ensure that operations are being carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, the Mines Regulations, the Environmental Regulations and addressing any concerns as soon as possible;Prepare and complete the necessary production documents;Communicate and act on pre and post shift activities;Actively manage and develop the performance of employees, using consistent performance management and communications techniques;Attend meetings and training sessions, some of which may be on scheduled days off;Communicate work cooperatively with Maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained while maximizing production;Review safety incidents and conduct crew reviews as required; andAssume other duties and responsibilities as required in response to changing circumstances and the economical and physical environment of the Company.JOB REQUIREMENTSTypical Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 3 years of related work experience which includes production operations in the mining industryAny equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilitiesLicenses, Registration, and CertificationsValid Driver's LicenseSkills/CompetenciesLeadershipProblem solvingTime ManagementCommunicationInitiativeOrganizationInterpersonal
