Job Description

We are expanding! We are looking to recruit experienced Tow Truck Drives for our growing team in Fort McMurray. Class 5 - single axle, Class 3 - double axle, Class 1 - triple axle. We need drivers who are client orientated, hardworking and motivated. Our drivers must be dedicated to customer service and safety procedures.Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Driving and operating a Tandem Deck Tow Truck for loading/towing vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently on or off the highway, in traffic and under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Respond to various calls, including basic tows, roadblocks, accidents & recoveries
  • Interact and communicate with customers & dispatch in a courteous and respectful manner building relationships and trust.
  • Connecting/attaching a vehicle to the tow truck and transporting (this may include using a chain, straps, winch, steering locks, and other devices as well as fixing lights onto the towed vehicle).
  • Right overturned vehicles which may require the use of a winch; rigs various vehicles to be righted or towed using accepted procedures; towing vehicles to designated locations.
  • Performs pre/post inspections along with routine maintenance logs, checks oil, grease, water, lights and mirrors and any other items effecting the safe operation of the vehicle.
  • Securing, tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo.
  • Write up reports of service; completion of daily paperwork (trip logs, billing information/payment receipts, pre/post inspections etc.).
Required Skills:
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally while consistently providing co-workers and our customers with professional and outstanding service.
  • Experience in vehicular rigging.
  • Class 3 or class 5(single axle tow truck) driver’s license with an acceptable abstract.
  • Provide a clear Criminal Records Check.
  • Pass drug and alcohol screening tests.
  • Can prioritize and multitask and remain flexible in continually changing situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and remain focused on tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work various shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; also required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift over 50 pounds.
  • Perform heavy manual labour for extended periods in adverse inclement weather.
