The cross-functional team includes Student Connection and Community Care (Office of Student Community Standards, Student Support and Intervention Coordinators), Residence Life and Education, Testing Services, and Student Wellbeing (Accessible Learning and Counselling Services, Wellness Education and Programs, and the Health Centre). The SWEL team offer pan-College services across all Humber College/University of Guelph-Humber campuses.Job DetailsPosition Title: Testing Services CoordinatorHours: 37.5/hrs wkFaculty/Department: Student Wellness and Equitable Learning (SWEL)/Student Success and Engagement (SSE)Campus/Location: North CampusSalary: Payband G (min) $30.56 (max) $35.42What you will do:Reporting to the Manager, SWEL Administration, the Coordinator works as one of two team leads providing day-to-day team leadership, guidance, and support service delivery.This includes:

  • Providing leadership in all matters related to testing – training for full and part-time staff, managing any urgent issues requiring immediate resolution, addressing conflicts, and other student issues
  • Assigning work to ensure smooth operation of the Test Centres and coordinating day-to-day operations (including scheduling)
  • Providing support to all Test Centre activities – supporting booking, invigilation, ensure exam security, etc.
  • Analyzing, problem solving, and troubleshooting all computer/software issues
  • Act as a resource person, providing on going coaching and training for all staff associated with Test Centres
  • Supporting Manager through leadership and guidance regarding policies and procedures of Testing Services and implementing procedural updates which impact Testing Services operations
  • Co-chairing a Champions Team focused on operational matters pertaining to Testing Services with full-time and partial load faculty members, Innovative Learning partners, and other stakeholders to ensure ongoing feedback loops and process improvements
  • On call for problems and questions that staff have while working evenings and weekends (when scheduled)
What you bring to the role:Education:
  • 3 year diploma / degree or equivalent in social sciences with a strong understanding of issues related to accommodation, disability, and inclusive service delivery
Experience:
  • At least 2 years of practical experience, preferably in a postsecondary/student affairs and services setting with a proven record of achievement and success, demonstrating:
  • Ability to work within and foster a collaborative work environment and positive outcomes
  • Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), problem and self-management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining positive, solution-focused, and equitable learning, service, and team environments
  • Demonstrated ability to support and facilitate training and onboarding, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
  • Skill in developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Flexible and creative thinking, and ability to adapt approach based on scenario that could change in the moment
  • Apply conflict resolution skills, and the ability to problem solve and make difficult and informed decisions through a demonstrated ability to deal with disruptive students, belligerent supporters (e.g., parents, guardians), and stressful situations
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative to solve problems on a daily basis
  • Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and the Ontario Human Rights Code
