Job Description

This is primarily an administrative role in which the successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day planning, operations, and facilitating the systems that enable people to get connected to the church family, and progress in the discipleship journey.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIESKey accountabilities and responsibilities for this role:Administrative Excellence

  • Assist with the coordination and administration of Connect Groups by:
    • Maintaining the Planning Center database with up to date information on church members and connect groups as required.
    • Perform the duties of a subject matter expert on Planning Center Groups and People and regularly pursue training on these and other Planning Centre Modules including the Church App.
  • Conduct the administrative tasks for Discipleship related events and activities, including working to integrate participants into communities and connect groups by:
    • Completing all follow-up tasks to ensure an adequate level of engagement in their groups and the next steps on the equipping journey
  • Assist Connections Pastor with direct administrative support and other operational duties as needed.
Project Management
  • Collaborate with the Church Ops team to help church member’s progression of training and development through ‘The Journey’.
  • Project manage Discipleship events by:
    • Creating and managing event schedules
    • Drafting and sending communication with stakeholders, utilizing a variety of tools and methods to ensure a successful outcome..
    • Creating work orders for the Communications team in a timely manner. Collaborate with them to ensure deliverables are on time.
  • Organize the practical aspects of training and social events for Connect Group Leader Development.
Communication and Support
  • Respond to email and phone requests from our church family, assisting them to find community, belonging and discipleship growth through Connect Groups, and discipleship events.
  • Assist in the recruiting and strengthening of Connect Group Leaders and volunteers through:
    • Tracking and following up on next steps of development,
    • Conduct Planning Center training to leaders and volunteers. Follow up and ensure procedures are followed, for example timely response to membership requests.
    • Provide Safeguarding process support to stakeholders and safeguarding team.
    • Respond to volunteer requests
    • Writing and sending informational communications to Connect Group Leaders
  • Assist with the development of a church-wide strategy for discipling church attendees.
  • Actively contribute to the joy and strength of the church in staff meetings, vision meetings, etc.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSKey educational and experiential qualifications for this role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is a requirement; certificate in business or office administration an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using software for project management.
  • Good standing history with Catch The Fire is an asset.
  • Agree with and live in accordance with Catch The Fire Statement of Faith.

  • 90 Day Probationary Period.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in Canada.
  • Employment is conditional upon a clear police reference check
  • On-site presence in the offices is an important component to this role, as there needs to be clear availability and accessibility to staff
  • Weekend work is required, therefore reliable transportation will be needed
