Additional information about the Company can be found at www.abctechnologies.com.Job Summary:An Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator in a plant that manufactures automotive parts is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and environmental compliance of the facility. Overall, the EHS Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that the manufacturing plant operates safely, responsibly, and in compliance with all relevant regulations, thereby protecting both employees and the environment.Job Responsibilities:Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job #39;s key responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the plant complies with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations. Keep up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Safety Programs : Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and accidents. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
  • Environmental Management: Manage programs related to environmental compliance, such as waste management, air quality, and water discharge. Monitor and control hazardous materials, ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal. Implement and manage sustainability initiatives to reduce the plant #39;s environmental footprint.
  • Training and Education: Develop and conduct training programs for employees on EHS topics,
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions. Maintain records of incidents and ensure that all incidents are properly documented and reported.
Job Qualifications:
  • Education: A degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field is typically required. Some employers may accept candidates with a degree in a different field if they have relevant experience or certifications.
  • Certifications (Optional but Preferred): Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST). Associate Safety Professional (ASP). Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM). ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 certifications for Environmental Management Systems and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other relevant regulatory bodies. Familiarity with automotive industry standards, such as IATF 16949, can be beneficial.
  • Previous Experience: 2-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in the automotive industry or another highly regulated industry is often preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess data, identify trends, and develop strategies for improvement. Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for creating reports, delivering training, and interacting with employees at all levels. Ability to explain complex EHS concepts in an understandable way.
  • Training and Education: Experience in developing and delivering EHS training programs. Ability to coach and mentor employees on safety and environmental practices.
