Our patient-centric focus is demonstrated across our locations, all uniquely designed to support both the practical aspects of access to compassionate, cutting-edge health care, as well as the way patients and visitors feel.HOURS: Currently Days, 8 hours(Subject to change in accordance with the operational requirements)HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:Reporting to the Clinical Service Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with Registered Dietitians to teach on all aspects of diabetes management, including insulin pump therapy to patients and their families.YOU HAVE:Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of OntarioBaccalaureate degree (or in progress)Certified Diabetes Educator Certificate (CDE) requiredMinimum of one (1) year recent experience with complex diabetes care requiredA minimum of five (5) years recent experience with Diabetes preferredInsulin pump certification requiredCurrent BCLS requiredExperience teaching adults/groups in an ambulatory care or community setting preferredExcellent interpersonal skills requiredExcellent organizational skills, time management skills, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills requiredExcellent critical thinking skills required.Must be professional and self-directedInterest in and knowledge of current diabetes managementProven good attendance and work record requiredAbility to be flexible with schedule in order to meet the needs of the clients is requiredExpectation is that candidate will become a certified pump trainer within 2 yearsYour community thanks you for considering this role.Joining William Osler now is a chance to immerse yourself in a culturally diverse, collaborative, and innovative environment.
