Please note we anticipate that in early 2022, we’ll be moving to a hybrid approach which gives us the best of both worlds – a mix of home and in-office workdays.Hourly Rate Payband/Range: Payband K, $41.44/hr - $48.06/hrWhat you willd do:Under the general direction of the Manager, Enterprise Technology and as part of an integrated team, the Enterprise Technology Specialist will be responsible for the development, support, security and continuous operation of the Enterprise Technology related systems and applications.The incumbent will plan, execute, monitor, and support integration strategies based on business requirements of the functional and technical users and ensure that that sound operating practices are applied and maintained throughout the integration lifecycle.The incumbent will be part of the applications support team ensuring that the application and systems continue to functional in an operationally effective model and that changes and improvements are monitored, planned, and implemented on a structured basis.This position will require the incumbent to be on 24/7 call in case of failures or emergencies and may require scheduling hours of work on weekends or evenings with short notice.Key Responsibilities Include

  • Application architecture design, planning, provisioning, monitoring, problem identification/resolution and continuous improvement of Enterprise Application systems/applications to ensure optimal operational availability and integrity.
  • Participate in the operational planning and functional changes to the Enterprise Application systems/applications that are requested by the business owners to determine risks, technical issues/capabilities.
  • Planning, designing, coordinating, and overseeing activities related to interoperability and integration of enterprise systems (Blackboard, Active Directory, Payroll, Financial Information Systems (FIS), Student Information Systems (SIS) and Scheduling etc.), processes and information.
  • Provide project management and documentation to support design, implementation and operational support of Information Technology application and systems.
  • Upgrade technical skills to keep abreast of changes in information technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the role:Education
  • 4-year degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification in Java programming/development and/or Banner® by Ellucian products preferred.
Experience
  • The minimum practical experience required is 5 years in a progressively complex applications environment, supporting data integration and technology support in a similar multi-vendor complex computing environment as Humber.
  • Practical experience with an ERP, integration systems, web services development, database management systems, and operating systems.
  • Programming experience in Java and other development languages such as Oracle PL/SQL are considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with AWS technologies is desirable.
