YOUR ROLEYour role will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Import/Export operations, as well as providing client service/support while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the operational process. The desirable candidate would be familiar with the Cargowise operation system and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Staff also must model and act in accordance with DTS Advance Logistics guiding principles and core values.WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO
  • Arrange and planning of shipment delivery/pick-up with overseas agent, track and trace shipments to final destinations and ensuring the most appropriate method for shipping.
  • Coordination with PORT / RAIL / ground carriers. Provide exceptional customer service to build and maintain good business relationship with all parties related.
  • Handle all incoming communications from overseas agent, clients, and other business partners in a timely and professional manner. Resolve any operational issues and customer complaints as they arise and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence.
  • Audit supplier/vendor’s invoice and reconcile payments/remittances. Responsible for billing of shipments, ensure that all charges for services rendered are included, and the rates are billed according to quotation.
  • Make continuous improvements on internal systems and procedures to leverage the service quality and process efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate with shipping lines, rail or trucking regarding expedition service and any other special requests if required.
  • Provide timely update of all mandatory tracking events per global and customer SOPs.
  • Various other duties as may be handed to you for completion.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
  • Must have 1 year plus experience in ocean freight handling import/export shipments.
  • Must have knowledge of Canadian geography, ports, rail service providers and logistics hubs.
  • Knowledge of CARGOWISE will be an asset.
  • Experience handling high volume of emails daily, with the ability to multitask and prioritize concurrent task.
  • Time management, critical thinking and problem solving is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Incoterms, ocean & air freight operations, ocean & air carriers and routings/services.
  • Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs requirements (AMS, ISF, Fumigation) is a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and accurate when processing documentation.
  • Proactive, positive, enthusiastic, and self-driven.
