Are you open to the possibilitiesJob DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring the Control Room functions effectively and efficiently, by managing and tracking the arrivals and departure of all vehicles, as well as maintaining an accurate log of all transportation activities at the Warehouse/Sort facility. The Control Room Coordinator is the central point of communication between all driver, vendors, operators and the network team to ensure operational efficiency and optimization.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and track yard access and inventory of all inbound and outbound trailers at the Warehouse/Sort Facility.Log all trailer moves in Yard Management System and maintain accurate yard inventory.Review daily transportation requirement for correct equipment to ensure we meet our volume agreements while staying within operational capacities.Handle operational and shipping issues with focus on mitigating customer, operational and financial impacts.Engage with Management, Sales and Customer Service teams to communicate any delays in shipments.Responsible for the distribution and tracking of equipment issued to Transport team. (E.g. Shunters/Drivers etc.)Responsible to ensure completions of daily Yard Checks and entry and interface into YMSControl and establish accurate arrival and departure times of all linehaul units (TMS data entry and follow up)Provide continuous updates of yard positions for viewPlans, coordinates and monitors yard access for trailers.Partner and Collaborate with Managers, Team Leaders, shunters, drivers to ensure no disruption in operations.Act as a central communication point and lead communication with the network teamPartner and collaborate with Carriers, Management, Shunters, Drivers, and Linehaul Control to identify and communicate issues/ problems and maintain progress reports (includes communication about potential delays and plan for inbound and outbound linehauls)Responsible for assigning equipment to Shunters, Linehaul/city bulk drivers and CarriersEstablish and Implement effective procedures and controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risksComplete all reports and required documentation as per scheduled timelines.Ensure compliance with all safety and yard rules and regulationsIdeal RequirementsA diploma in Administration and/or an equivalent combination of education and training.2-5 years of control room coordinator experience in the industry.Demonstrated experience in Excel and application based softwareExperience of working in a warehouse type environment (an asset)Experience communicating with all levels of business.Ability to multitask and be comfortable making decisions and acting quickly under tight deadlinesKnowledge of local and inter province linehaul/trailer movements.POSTING DETAILSLocation: Ontario Hub- 62 Vulcan St. Etobicoke ON M9W 1L2Hours of Work: Monday-Friday: 4:00pm-12:00amWorking Conditions: Office Environment; Outdoors; Warehouse EnvironmentReports to: Section Manager-Purolator is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
