Join the Pantages Hotel Downtown Toronto as a Maintenance Attendant!We are currently recruiting for a part-time Maintenance Attendant to work at the Pantages Hotel Toronto. The Maintenance Attendant helps take care of our building operations, as well as professionally trouble-shoot issues in guest suites. We are currently looking for someone who can work Saturdays and Sundays. The Pantages Hotel is located in the heart of one of Toronto’s most vibrant neighborhoods is a busy and buzzy place to work, with some great people (bonus!).What we offer:

Maintenance Attendant’s Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring the property and product are in a condition that exceeds our guests’ expectations.
  • Identify and rectify and general maintenance issues within the property.
  • Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient and safe manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to hotel guest rooms and equipment, including kitchen, boiler, HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
  • Drywall repair, painting and other basic carpentry as needed.
  • Make regular internal and external rounds of property to ensure that everything is in working order, reporting any issues to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain work area, all equipment and logbooks.
  • Respond to emergency situations including fire alarms, power failure.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
  • Follow through on daily tasks and key responsibilities, driving a culture of teamwork and fun!
  • Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications for the Role:
  • A minimum of 2 years technical experience or equivalent in a recognized trade with a general understanding of building maintenance and operation. Previous experience in a fast-paced hotel environment would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems and operations - ie. chillers, boilers, water softeners, refrigeration, plumbing and electrical;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to move (push/pull), lift, carry and place objects weighing less than or equal to 40lbs without assistance, and in excess of 40 lbs with assistance.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Stand, sit, kneel or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, and positive attitude.
  • Proven customer service skills and resolving customer concerns.
  • Strong organization skills and a proficient multi-tasker.
  • Must be available to work Saturday’s and Sunday’s, as a minimum, either AM or PM shifts. Availability to work other shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings, weekends and holidays is an asset.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
