They play a critical role in the research, development and roll-out of new initiatives. The incumbent oversees various phases of project development and handling all logistics necessary to bring the project to completion.Project Leadership:

  • Acts as a catalyst to resolve project problems and conflicts, escalating when necessary;
  • Works with the Management Team and appropriate stakeholders to refine and clarify the project scope (boundaries) and objectives (goals);
  • Prepares a preliminary baseline project plan for each phase of implementation, identifying scope and milestones of project, identifying the start and completion dates for each task and resources required;
  • Undertakes background research and investigation required for each project to ensure a strong foundation for success;
  • Identifies all linkages and inter-dependencies with other projects;
  • Works with the Associate Dean to engage stakeholders and seek approvals as needed to support project outcomes;
  • Develops a strategy to successfully achieve and control the desired results of the project;
  • Assists in the preparation of project estimates for the Associate Dean which includes a list of all business, technology, and operational resources and funding requirements for the project (human, capital, operating expense etc.) This will require a full understanding of the College budget process and funding models;
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget and with acceptable quality through ongoing evaluation of project gates;
  • Prepare and deliver a communications plan for project that addresses all stakeholder and user needs;
  • Facilitates all project logistics and related administrative tasks;
  • Produces all summary documents required including reports, business case analysis, data analysis summaries, and presentations as required for each project.
  • Organize focus groups and focus group participants, and remuneration for focus group participation.
  • Coordinate social media engagement for the project
  • Coordinate live events for the project
What you bring to the role:Education
  • Three year diploma/degree or equivalent in Information Science, Business Administration, or Liberal Arts.
Experience & Skills
  • 3 years experience
  • Experience in Education Sector is preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, including facilitation and negotiation skills with proven efficacy;
  • Outstanding leadership skills, combined with facilitating decision-making through consultation and consensus-building, are also required;
  • Honesty, integrity and a combination of education, experience, and achievements that will enhance the ability to communicate a vision and command respect within the college are essential;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities;
  • The capacity to interact effectively with management as well as unionized and non-unionized staff is essential;
  • Strong project coordination skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and manage complexity;
  • Strong research and evaluation skills;
  • Ability to adapt to an environment where change is frequent, and process ambiguity exists.
