(Subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)DURATION: May 10, 2021 - August 31, 2021OVERVIEW:William Osler Health System is Ontario's largest community hospital serving the diverse and growing communities of Etobicoke, Brampton and surrounding regions of the Central West Local Health Integration Network (CW LHIN). As a regional referral centre, Osler provides programs and services to over one million area residents. Incorporated in 1998, Osler has three unique sites, each providing a wide range of services: Brampton Civic Hospital provides Osler's most complex and seriously ill or injured patients through a mix of inpatient and outpatient services. Etobicoke General Hospital is a traditional community hospital that provides all aspects of care from emergency care to surgery and specialist visits. Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness provides urgent and emergency care; day surgery and specialty clinics; and focus on helping individuals with chronic conditions manage their disease better. The Volunteer and Community Resources Department consists of professional administrators who support and facilitate over 1,200 volunteers to enhance the patient experience, assist visitors and positively contribute to Osler’s Mission and Vision while demonstrating our Values.ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:Reporting to the Volunteer and Community Resource (VCR) Manager, the Student Volunteer Coordinator will provide administrative support to the VCR team across Osler’s three sites to facilitate a seamless process which focuses on meeting client needs in a timely and supportive manner. You will be required to effectively manage competing priorities in often stressful working conditions while working to meet deadlines. Utilizing a high degree of customer service, confidentiality, office administration, and knowledge in volunteer management, you will complete the following duties (but are not limited to):Handling all walk-in and phone inquiries for prospective volunteers.General management of office activities including faxing, photocopying, and secure filing of confidential information.Follow-up inquiries with applicants.Ensuring and facilitating completeness of volunteer applications in a timely fashion. Assist with scheduling volunteer training sessions and conducting orientations.Assist department with planning and execution of recognition activities and events.Assist and maintain an up to date volunteer database for all volunteers. Foster positive and supportive relations between staff and volunteers.Look for opportunities to improve levels of services recognizing the needs and expectations of both staff, volunteers, and patients.
