Job Description

Position Summary:We are currently looking for a Temporary full-time Physiotherapist Aide (PTA) for our Long-Term Care home. The Physiotherapy Aide is responsible for assisting with Resident care as directed by a Physiotherapist, and for the maintenance and cleanliness of the treatment area and equipment. As a significant contributor, the PTA will take pride in the thoroughness of the work and the strong relationships developed with Residents and interdisciplinary teams.Requirements:

  • Candidates must have graduated from an approved PT Assistant Program.
  • Knowledgeable in exercise technique and musculoskeletal anatomy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills while interacting with residents or their families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow proper safety precautions and have awareness of Universal precautions.
  • Experience working with geriatrics in a Long Term Care home an asset.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting Physiotherapist with Resident care; including the use of ultrasound equipment, exercise programs
  • Treatment area cleanliness, including laundry and cleaning treatment area, organization, maintenance and cleaning/sterilization of medical equipment.
  • Collecting outcome measure data Inventory of clinical supplies.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary LOA CoverageSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
Licence/Certification:
  • Physiotherapist (preferred)
