Job Description

As an Assurance director, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing audit, certification, compilation, and review engagements for our clients, ensuring that these engagements are conducted efficiently and in accordance with professional standards. You will play a key role in developing our certification team and maintaining strong client relationships. This dynamic role fosters skill development and professional advancement within a company that values integrity, innovation, unity, and humility. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate audit engagements, certification engagements, as well as compilation and review services.
  • Oversee the certification team and ensure the professional development of team members.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Assess risks related to engagements and develop appropriate plans.
  • Provide recommendations to clients to improve their internal control systems.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of recommendations and presentations for client engagements.
  • Analyze engagement costs and explain budget variances.
  • Write and deliver performance evaluations in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • A Master #39;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification required.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in certification, preferably in an accounting firm.
  • Experience in team management and overseeing complex audit engagements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting and auditing standards.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in Caseware software.
