Job Description

Position: Childcare AttendantDepartment: ChildcareLocation: Fernie Alpine ResortReporting to: Snow School DirectorAvailability: Winter SeasonalResorts of the Canadian Rockies Inc. is looking to fill the position of Childcare Attendant at Fernie Alpine Resort. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children, will be an excellent communicator with positive attitude and a customer service orientation.Duties:

  • To ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
  • To assist and upsell guests at every opportunity
  • Energetic, fun, outgoing attitude with our guests and children
  • Execute daily age-appropriate programming for 20 children ranging in age from 18 months to 6 years
  • Creative and resourceful for crafts, circle time, and story time
  • Work well under pressure, multi task and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional guest relations with families and children
  • Greeting parents and children upon arrival
  • Create a smooth transition from separation from parents
  • Work well with others (attendants, management, ski school staff)
  • Ski and boot rental fitting
  • Punctual and flexible
  • Lunch and snack preparation
  • Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the RCR Employee Handbook
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
  • To perform other tasks and duties that are applicable
Qualifications:
  • CPR-C First Aid for children (will support training if required)
  • Previous Childcare experience preferred (willing to train as necessary) OR
  • Responsible adult training course – 20 hours (course paid and provided via resort childcare centre)
  • Criminal Record check through Ministry of Public Safety (fee paid by resort)
International applicants must have specific clearance/approval noted on visa document.
