Job Description

From a unique culinary program, to cat-skiing, biking, hiking, full spa and dedicated staff, Island Lake is a gem of the Canadian Rockies. www.islandlakelodge.comWe are looking for a dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our Front of House Food & Beverage Service Teams. You will deliver a high-quality service experience to our guests and provide our staff with strong and capable leadership. Responsibilities include maintaining an efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.To be successful in this role, you will need management skills and service experience. You will oversee all front of house operations. You will hire and train staff, set work schedules, manage inventories, manage staffing levels and make sure employees comply with company policies, health and safety guidelines, and liquor service regulations. You will manage seating plans and capacities and insure service standards are met and exceeded.We will expect you to lead professionally and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment – all while keeping our guests as your main priority. You will need to foster positive and collaborative working relationships and model effective communication between front and back of house. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have extraordinary and memorable dining experiences.General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage daily Front of the House restaurant operations
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Insure compliance with all company policies and operating procedures
  • Anticipate needs for goods, supplies and cleaning products
  • Maintain inventory levels and create regular inventory reports
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Implement policies and protocols that will increase efficiencies and maintain future restaurant operations
  • Work closely with eh Executive Chef on all restaurant operations
  • Work collaboratively with management team and other departments as needed
Requirements:
  • Previous work experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or similar role
  • Broad range of experience in customer service and people management
  • Extensive Food & Beverage knowledge and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Wine and Spirits considered and asset
  • Familiarity with POS software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, Leadership and professional demeanor
  • Flexible schedule with willingness to work weekends and holidays
  • Food Safe Certificate, familiar with HACCP.
  • Serving It Right Licensee Certificate.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License
