Job Description

Position Title: Site SupervisorPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: Florenceville MainRequisition ID: 24383McCain Fertilizer has an immediate opening for an experienced Site Supervisor to support the team in Florenceville-Bristol. As the successful candidate, you will supervise the operation and maintenance of our Fertilizer Blending Facilities in Florenceville, NB.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of 2 fulltime staff plus 15 temporary seasonal employees during peak season.
  • Ensure effective operation, productivity, and maintenance of site facilities.
  • Conduct on the job training with all new employees and ensure current employees are properly trained in their positions.
  • Ensure our safety program is being followed, develop, promote, and embed our safety culture.
  • Actively participate in healthamp; safety initiatives, taking a lead role in safety optimization in the drive towards zero incidents.
  • Ensure our plants are properly maintained in a way to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedule for all key components of our blending line and equipment.
  • Work with Sales and Site Manager to operate within budget expectations.
  • Coordinate contractor truck drivers and seasonal staff.
  • Responsible for inventory management (receiving, tracking, orders, transfers).
  • Manage small bag and tote bag lines and schedules.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years #39; experience with site operations, maintenance, and supervision.
  • Journeymen Trade Certificate in the fields of either electrical, mechanical or welding/fabrication would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers to problem solve, manage change, resolve employee issues effectively, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Solid training / coaching / mentoring skills which build the necessary capabilities to operate in a team environment and grow technical and leadership skill sets.
  • Aquot;Safety First quot; attitude, and the passion and commitment to proactively foster and promote safe work habits of employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours during peak seasons.
