Job Description

What we do: Horseshoe Hill Construction Inc. is a national general contractor specializing in concrete construction/rehabilitation and specialty concrete works. We encourage all applicants to visit our web site for more information on the work we provide. www.hhcinc.ca.We currently have an opening for a motivated Onsite Supervisor. This position will require a few weeks training out of our Mount Pearl, NL office prior to the start of work.Must have valid driver’s License and be willing to travel.This position commences near the beginning of Spring 2023. This is a full-time position and wage will be negotiated based on experience.Applicants are required to show proficiency in:

  • Analyzing Information
  • Project Planning / Site operation Coordination
  • Provincial Safety Regulations and Training Requirements
  • Standard Contract Procedures
  • Experience in Vendor Negotiations
Training Certificates (Preferred):
  • Standard First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Workplace NL/WorkSafe NB/WCB NS certified Fall Protection
  • WHMIS
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the day-to-day management and scheduling of site activities – labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors.
  • Responsible and accountable for ensuring the work performed is in accordance with project requirements.
  • Assist the assigned Supervisor with site reporting requirements – payroll, safety documentation, equipment tracking, look-a-heads etc.
  • In conjunction with the Project Management team, coordinate the delivery to site of all materials and equipment in a timely manner and as required by the project schedule.
  • Manage/Coordinate H&S requirements – ensure the project work is executed with highest of quality while ensuring all Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are adhered to.
Qualifications:
  • Successful Candidates will possess a minimum of 3 years of progressive Civil Bridge Rehabilitation experience in a supervisory/coordinator role and have the ability to read and understand project plans and scheduling documents.
  • Intermediate levels Engineer/Technologist are encouraged to apply. Preference given to those who hold current registration as either P. Eng. or P. Tech. or willing to obtain.
  • You must be able to work in fast paced environments and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Provincial Safety Knowledge and Competency training. (WHMIS, Hazard Assessment Training, Incident Reporting etc.)
