Job Description

​Peninsula Construction Inc, a division of RSG International, is a leader in the road safety infrastructure sector. Established in 1980, we are committed to installing road safety products with the highest level of safety, expertise, and customer service to help create roadways in Ontario.Reporting to the Senior Mechanic, the 310T/ 310S Mechanic, will be responsible for servicing and repairing trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, etc. in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. They will accurately fill out service ordersamp; ensure accurate accounts of parts used while contributing to the overall success of the shop team.Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Repair or replace faulty components
  • Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance tasks
  • Keep daily accurate records of work performed and parts used
  • Keep Fleet coordinator up to date on vehicle/repair status
  • Test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality before returning to service
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve complex problems
  • Participate in weekly safety talks
  • Onsiteamp; Roadside Service Calls
  • Work in compliance with Company Health and safety policies and OHSA standards.
  • Keep neat and organized records of services
  • General Housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned and required
Qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience as a 310T/ 310 S mechanic, working in a fleet management or transportation environment.
  • Licensed 310T/310 S (Truck and Coach)
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other automotive systems.
  • Welding and fabrication skills with the ability to perform repairs and modifications as needed.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting vehicle and equipment issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to work in an “on-call” and “off-site” capacity on occasion
  • Computer knowledge utilizing email, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, etc is considered an asset
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
  • Valid driver #39;s license and clean driving record.
