Job Description

Core Subject/Homeroom Teachers, Resource Teachers, Supply Teachers St-Laurent Academy is a dynamic and inspiring, JK to Grade 12, Private School located in Ottawa, Ontario.We are growing significantly and are currently accepting applications for full-time: Core/Homeroom Elementaryamp; Junior High Teachers, Supply Teachers, and Resource Teacher positions for 2023 - 2024 School Year.Positions:

  • Homeroom - Core Elementary Teacher (JK - Grade 5)
  • Supply Teacher (All Grade levels)
  • Homeroom - Subject Specialist Teacher - Junior High (Grade 6 - Grade 8)
Job Types: Full-TimeQualifications:
  • Must be eligible to work in Ontario.
  • Minimum of a B.Ed Degree (ECE/EA Designations, considered based on role).
  • Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) in good standing.
  • Excellent classroom management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • French is a requirement for our Junior Kindergarten - Senior Kindergarten roles
  • Computer literacy: proficient and knowledgeable with all Google Suite products (Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, Forms, Sheets)Microsoft Office (Excel), and Smart-board Technology.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Understands the needs of students and goes beyond the call of duty.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents.
  • Flexible, with an ability to manage to change strategies, environments, and needs.
The following assets are preferred but not required:
  • Ability to communicate in French (required for our JK-SK Programs).
  • Experience in a private/independent school.
  • Experience /Education in Special Education is valued highly.
  • Coaching and Leadership experiences (the Arts, Sports, Clubs, etc.) are important.
  • Experience with the Barton Readingamp; Spelling Program and/or Orton-Gillingham based tools
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and role.
  • Benefits include Group Health Insurance (after 6 months of employment).
  • Self-Directed RRSP (with employer contribution after 6 month of employment).
  • Additional week vacation during March/Spring Break (2 weeks), in addition to regular vacation time.
  • Ability to participate in school trips and adventurous outings.
  • Ability to Coach a team and/or run a specific specialized club in addition to the regular schedule, with additional remuneration provided
The school follows the traditional school year calendar from early September through late June.Our High School is per semester.
