St-Laurent Academy is a dynamic, growing and inspiring, JK to Grade 12, Private School located in Ottawa, Ontario.We are growing significantly and are already planning for the new school year! To ensure an excellent transition from this school year to the next, we are currently accepting applications for an additional full-time Phys.Ed/ Outdoor Education Teacher. This is a full time position, to start in/this April 1, 2023, and if the first 3 months are successful, the contract will continue into the 2024 - 2025 year.**Note: candidates applying must live in Ottawa or the immediate surrounding area.Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to work in Ontario.
• Minimum of a B.Ed Degree and/or completion of a Physicalamp; Health Education Program, Exercise Sciences, Kinesiology, Sport/Phys Ed, Outdoor Education.
• Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) in good standing.
• Excellent classroom management, organization, and planning skills.
• Coaching and Leadership experiences are important.
• Excellent oral, written, communication, and presentation skills in English.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student.
• Understands the needs of students and goes beyond the call of duty.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents.
• Flexible, with an ability to manage to change strategies, environments, and needs.

The following assets are preferred but not required:

• Ability to communicate in French (required for our JK-SK Programs).
• Experience in a private/independent school.
• Experience /Education in Special Education is valued highly.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary is commensurate with experience and role.

• Additional week vacation during March/Spring Break (2 weeks), in addition to regular vacation time.
• Ability to participate in school trips and adventurous outings.
• Ability to Coach a team and/or run a specific specialized club in addition to the regular schedule, with additional remuneration provided

The school follows the traditional school year calendar from early September through late June.Our High School is per semester.
