Job Description

Psychological Educational Assessment ServicesSitting at the northwest tip of Lake Athabasca, Fort Chipewyan is one of the most northern communities in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, one that strives for a balance between urban and natural settings in Treaty 8 Territory. There are about 980 residents living in the hamlet, making it the second-largest community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Many of the residents of Fort Chipewyan are Mikisew Cree First Nation, Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, and Fort Chipewyan Métis. Surrounded by nature, Fort Chipewyan is a fly-in community.Prerequisites:

  • Registered or eligible to register with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP)
  • Experienced in administering, interpreting, and writing thorough Psychological Educational Assessment, including specific interventions in numerous areas (Cognitive, social/emotional, behavioral, Learning Disabilities, Autism, FASD, etc.)
  • Qualified and comfortable providing inservices on relevant topics to staff and students, as needed
Scope of Work:
  • Complete Psychological Educational Assessments, including debriefs with the family/school
  • Provide consultation services
Onsite Service Delivery:Assessments and debriefs would be conducted in person at Athabasca Delta Community School in Fort Chipewyan. These would occur on a few occasions throughout the school year, based on identified student needs. Flight costs from Fort McMurray, as well as lodging expenses, would be reimbursed.All documents listed below are required for your application to be considered, any omission will result in disqualification of the application.
  • A current resume
  • Rates for the services you provide, inclusive of GST, for the following:
  • A copy of your professional practice permit.
Should you be the successful candidate the following information would be required:
  • Proof of liability insurance of no less than five million dollars (please attach document/provide name of underwriter).
  • Confirmation of your company name, address and contact details.
  • Workers Compensation number required
  • GST registration number, if applicable. (no GST # no GST can be charged)
