  • Oversee and implement HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment during the shutdown process.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and motivate the team to adhere to safety standards and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Coordinate with project management and other departments to ensure HSE compliance across all activities.
  • Provide HSE induction and ongoing training to staff, emphasizing the importance of safety in the workplace.
  • Manage incident investigations and reporting, ensuring all incidents are documented and lessons learned are communicated and implemented.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid measures.
  • Liaise with external HSE regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HSE supervisory role within the oil and gas industry, specifically in shutdown operations.
  • Recognized HSE qualifications, such as NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to conduct training sessions and safety briefings.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and a commitment to promoting Indigenous employment and engagement.
  • Proficiency in HSE management systems and software.
  • Ability to work in a remote, camp-based environment with a 6 on/1 off, 12-hour shift schedule.
