Learn more about OCL here: www.oclgroup.caThe RoleWe are currently looking for a motivated and ambitious 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Pipefitterfor our fabrication shop located just NE of Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm.Future project requirements may require additional overtime, work on weekends and work on project sites.Compensation/Benefits

  • 3rd and 4th year rates are 80% and 90% respectively of Journeyperson wage which is $44.00 per hour.
  • Overtime at time and a half after 8 hours per day.
  • 6% vacation pay and4% stat holiday pay on all regular hours.

  • Assist journeymen pipefitters, supervisors and co-workers with pipefitting related tasks.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Read blueprints and specifications.
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving of pipes, valves and fittings
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
  • Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required
  • Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors
  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications
  • Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition
  • Ensure FLRA is completed at the beginning of every job and work is completed safely.
  • Complete equipment maintenance in line with OCL Group and industry standards, procedures and practices.
  • May perform other related duties assigned
  • Maintain shop cleanliness.

Experience/Education/Qualifications
  • Registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Pipefitter
  • Must have previous experience in a similar setting and industry
  • CSTS 2020 Fundamentals (contains WHMIS2015)
  • May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test when working on certain sites
  • May need to have certain safety tickets and complete site specific orientations for certain sites
  • Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from work
