The opportunityAn exciting opportunity exists in our Maintenance department within the Metals division for a Millwright located in Fort Saskatchewan. This position is accountable for contributing to the ongoing maintenance in the nickel, cobalt, leach, utilities and fertilizer plants within the Sherritt Metals refinery. In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Completing ongoing maintenance of pumps, compressors, conveyors, turbines, gear boxes, large stationary and rotating equipment, as well as other daily routine maintenance tasks.
  • Reviewing and understanding scope of work provided daily by the Crew Leader and/or Planner, including routine maintenance and shutdown activities
  • Actively participating in safe work procedure reviews, development, and implementation.
  • Preparing accurate and detailed service reports and updating existing documentation as required
  • Adhering to all safety standards and policies and supporting documentation
Skills and attributes for success:
  • Millwright Trade Certification is required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of industrial experience
  • Flexible to work regular/periodic shift work is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong technical abilities and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent work ethic, attendance and proven positive work performance
