Job Description

We are an expanding progressive surface land and environmental consulting firm with an interest in oil and gas, forestry, mining, energy, and agricultural industries, as well as municipal authorities throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Canadas north. We employ a team of over 85 staff members located in our Fairview, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, and Terrace offices, and we offer interdisciplinary expertise to develop environmental solutions for our clients throughout western Canada. For over 40 years, we have directly assisted clients in regulatory application and have provided consulting expertise on environmental legislation, regulations and guideline compliance related to project planning, development, and reclamation. Help us do great things!GENERAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor or Graduate Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology5+ years of relevant archaeological experienceMember of the BCAPA preferredPermit Holder, BC Field Director, or eligible to applyProficient computer skills with Microsoft OfficeCurrent Safety Tickets (i.e., First Aid, H2S) preferredValid Class 5 Drivers LicenseCanadian Citizen or Permanent ResidencyREQUIRED COMPETENCIESDisplays leadership and independence in scheduling, prioritization, and completion of work tasksUnderstands project management processes and willing to adhere to themStrong commitment to health, safety and environment cultureWorking knowledge of the oil and gas industry in BC preferredWell-versed in pertinent provincial heritage legislationSuperior attention to detail and ability to produce professional deliverables on time and on budgetAbility to coordinate project planning, logistics, and preparation for field workAbility to make decisions with consideration of appropriate inputsExperience with working on large work programs with multiple team membersExceptional verbal and written communication skills, technical report writing skills, and project management skillsWilling to travel and work away from home periodicallyMust be physically fit, comfortable in an outdoor setting, and able to adapt to various weather conditionsRESPONSIBILITIESInitiate, manage, and lead archaeological assessments for forestry, mine, oil and gas facility and pipeline projectsAssist with proposals including scopes of work and cost estimates for archaeological projects preferredAssist with building and maintaining positive client relationships, focusing on providing top-quality serviceTrain and mentor junior staffExecute complex archaeological field programsComplete technical reportsMaintain an understanding of applicable heritage resources regulations, guidelines and associated industry practices within BCConsult with the Archaeology Branch and/or BC Energy Regulator, and interact with regulators on behalf of clientsDocument and keep records in accordance with our Quality Management PlanCOMPENSATIONFull Time PositionLocal and Remote Work OptionsCompetitive Wage ($40.00 to $60.00 per hour)Paid Vacation and Personal DaysGroup Life and Health BenefitsWellness ProgramTraining OpportunitiesRRSP and Employer ContributionsCompensation packages will be determined based on candidates experience, education, and overall suitability for position.
