Box 1808 • 2020 Massey Drive • Prince George • BC • V2L 4V7 | 250 562 9341 | nbc.ymca.cawork with your team using the lens of what is best for children and YMCA Child Care centres.Responsibilities and abilitiesReporting to the Manager of Child Care Administration, you will manage the child care registrationsystem for the Associations licensed programs across Northern B.C. This includes providing leadershipand management of the transportation department as well as other direct reports.Key Factors:Critical Thinking/Problem Solving:

  • As the first point of contact, provides exceptional customer service in a timely fashion
  • Builds and maintains efficient child care registration systems and processes
  • Provides efficient and effective data entry, bookkeeping clerical and administrative work relating
to registration and accounting systems in accordance with the approved standards andguidelines
  • Ensures accurate billing, fulfillment of waitlists efficiently
  • Forward thinker who maintains a yearly cycle calendar to properly plan and implement
initiatives and begin registrations for ongoing and upcoming programsLeadership:
  • Hires, trains and supports employees to ensure safe, accurate procedures with attention to
detail and policy
  • Provides leadership, ongoing coaching and appropriate training to staff team
  • Develops procedures that ensure best quality delivery of safe service
  • Ensures all HR procedures are followed
  • Engages and builds a team dedicated to excellence in service
Communication (Interpersonal skills & contact with customers/public):
  • In contact with current and prospective families regarding Child Care programs and services;
makes calls, responds to emails, regarding child care registration, billing, fee collection, financialassistance and waitlists
  • Maintains close connection with the child care managers or coordinators in each region to
resolve issues
  • Maintains close connection with Northern Health to ensure child care spaces are correctly

  • Performs accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the Child Care Division
regarding the affordable child care benefit, child care operating funding, child care fee reductioninitiative, the child care wage enhancement and parent fees
  • Performs billing and reporting to Northern Health as required
Initiative:
  • Works independently, making decisions and executing work with minimal support, in an
environment with many urgent and competing priorities.
  • Multitasks while answering the phone, directing calls, data entry, word processing with
accuracy, preparation of biweekly and monthly reportsWork Environment:
  • This position deals with multiple demands, deadlines and dealing with the day-to-day
interruptions from strategic initiatives
  • Work involves a moderate amount of physical, mental and visual demands
Qualifications
  • Higher business knowledge and experience or specialized skills acquired, 3 years minimum
experience
  • Early Childhood Educator certificate an asset
  • Experience in the development and leadership of an effective, engaged team, 3 years experience
  • Experience in child care and child development an asset
  • Physical ability to do the duties required
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Three satisfactory professional references
