Job Description

Position: Foremen (Heavy Duty Mechanic) Position Type: Full timeLocation: Fort St John, BCWork Schedules: Day Shift Position OverviewVelocity Truck Centre Canada, formally known as First Truck Centre, is looking for a Shop Foreman in Fort St. John, BC.   • Attractive Compensation: Earn a competitive base rate of $58/hr for a Journeyman; with hourly uplifts. ONE of the Best bonus plans in the industry is also included. Our technician production bonus program utilizes a flat rate earning potential with hourly protection to the technician. Meaning, the technician is able to earn for the hours billed over and above their actual time, without ever going below their guaranteed hours of pay per period. Higher efficiency = more $$.

Primary Job Functions
  • Directly supervise and monitor technicians in the performance of all their duties
  • Dispatch technicians to jobs based on skill levels and training certifications
  • Direct the smooth operation and control of the shop workflow
  • Assist in repair order process
  • Communicate with Service advisors to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Perform Road tests
  • Perform quality assurance activities, including:
    • Quality assurance inspections
    • Checks of job progress and quality
    • Training Technicians in quality assurance
  • Supervise the maintenance/use of tools and shop equipment with an emphasis on safety
Qualifications
  • Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
  • Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal)
  • Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert
  • Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift
  • Daimler Certification is considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver #39;s license
  • Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus
