This 12-month paid internship allows you to gain high-level experience, access to cutting edge technology, and develop sought after skills employers are looking for. The ASI program combines classroom learning with an intensive hands on work place practicum.The practicum provides you, as a graduate of a technical program, with the opportunity to enhance your skills by participating in an experiential workplace paid internship at the Army Learning Support Centre (ALSC) at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown.Internships are offered in the following fields of study:3D & Animation ProductionAdministrative ServicesWeb ProgrammingGame ProgrammingGraphic DesignIT SupportPhotography & Video ProductionApplication DevelopmentResponsibilitiesAs an intern of the Army Learning Support Centre (ALSC) you will learn how to utilize industry standard technologies to develop advanced training for the military. The ALSC designs and develops distance learning, 3D models, gaming applications, animations, graphic print media, videos, and photography to help modernize army training.The ALSC immerses you in a production environment that places emphasis on teamwork. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with ALSC personnel who have expertise in your field, as well as fellow interns. The support does not stop there! This program will also provide each intern with a mentor whose mandate is to assist you in your new role and to provide you with the support you need to succeed.Each intern is assigned a workstation for completing his or her daily tasks. The facilities are among the best in the country and include state-of-the-art technology and equipment; 3D print capability, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality tools such as Oculus and HoloLens.We want to build on your skills and hone in on project planning, the development process, and the importance of quality. You will be exposed to many different projects and experiences while you are with us. You will be working on individual projects as well as actual community based projects.Because our training materials are directly aligned with military training you will get the experience to touch, work and play with actual military equipment, vehicles, simulators, etc.Classroom Component:To enhance the technical training you already possess, you will focus on the following areas of study:Health and Safety, Human Relations, Organizational Management, Personal Development, Project Management, Quality Management and Verbal Communication and Written Communication Techniques. NBCC has created a flexible delivery model for your coursework that will enable you to attend your practicum during the day. Most of your classes will take place online or in the evening at NBCC Fredericton.QualificationsAdmission requirements include:A certificate, diploma or degree in a field related to the internship placement.
