This new remote role of Accounting Assistant is to support the Director of Finance in running the daily operations of the department. With meticulous attention to detail, the successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, perform well under pressure and have the ability to meet deadlines. Interaction, remotely, with different teams across the company will require you to be a team player in a dynamic organization that is well established and looking to implement continuous improvement.The role is fully remote, not just during the restrictions of Covid-19, and can be performed from any location. Full training and work tools will be provided.The Role:

  • Recording entries including but not limited to, invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
  • Completing purchase orders
  • Managing payroll
  • Process reimbursement forms
  • Generating complex financial reports on a regular basis
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Managing all accounts payable
  • Verifying bank deposits
  • Managing day-to-day banking transactions
  • Recording office expenditures
  • Handling accruals and prepayments
  • Managing monthly budgeting tasks
  • Encoding accounting entries for data processing
  • Receipt organization and storage
  • Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source
  • Resolving errors in financial reports and correcting faulty reporting methods
  • Manage quarterly HST filings
Who you are:
  • Work experience as an Accounting Assistant, Bookkeeper or Accounting Clerk
  • Canadian working experience in a similar field essential
  • Extensive Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and QuickBooks Online
  • Fully computer literate
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • A flair for organization and multi-tasking abilities
  • Organization skills and strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or relevant field an asset but not essential
