Job Description

Overview:Our team is continuing to grow and we are seeking professionals with significant construction experience. As our Construction Project Manager you will be expected to bring creativity to our project planning, value engineering, and constructability reviews. You are also someone that enjoys being forward facing and responsive to our clients. The current portfolio of opportunities primarily consists of maintenance and small capital projects with commercial and industrial clients in the Maritimes. There will also be opportunities to collaborate with our infrastructure teams on large projects across Canada.Your opportunityDillon’s Transportation & Facilities technical group is looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work onnew and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.At Dillon, we operate as one team. This position is available at any of the following Dillon offices in New Brunswick: Fredericton, Saint JohnResponsibilities:What your day will look likeProject Management & Design (77%)Provide leadership and technical direction of functional design, detailed design and construction administration activities of multidisciplinary project teamsManage a high-volume of small projects for various local clientsProvide regular project updatesBe prepared to work onsite at our project locationsBusiness Development (20%)Identify and develop new business opportunitiesProvide leadership in the maintenance of existing client relationships including preparation of proposals and statement of qualificationBusiness travel to local heavy industrial facilities as requiredBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestLearning & Development (3%)Commit to self-development learningInput to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesQualifications:What will you need to succeedA degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineeringLicensed to practice as a professional engineer, or eligible to be licensed within six monthsPrevious consulting experience is preferredExperience:Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business developmentUnderstands and comfortable working in an industrial space in close proximity to heavy machinery as well as interacting with contractors on a routine basisProfessional work experience in heavy industrial and commercial facility engineeringAbility to plan, direct and evaluate construction projects from pre-concept to completionManaging agreements/contracts with architects, sub consultants and contractorsExperience in preparing robust budgets and capital estimates for clientsStrong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Project and OfficeFast adoption of technology and commitment to innovationAsset skills and qualificationsProject Handover and/or Commissioning experienceProven track record for developing and managing construction tendersProject management and/or construction related certificationsIn depth knowledge of contract administrationDispute managementFlexibility to work in remote locations including northern CanadaAbility to benchmark costs and schedule based on prior knowledge and experienceWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
