Job Description

If you understand leading people and managing a very busy production-based department with multiple shifts, this opportunity might be for you! Shift Auto Group has an immediate opening for a Detail Shop Coordinator.Shift Auto Group consists of Volvo Cars New Brunswick, Fredericton Mitsubishi, five ReCar locations, three St. Croix Auto locations and Velocity Auto Body. With aggressive growth plans in multiple locations planned and ongoing, we are Eastern Canada’s fastest growing automotive retailer.The majority of the thousands of used vehicles that we sell a year are reconditioned (prepared for sale) at our facility at 349 St. Mary’s Street and the Detail Shop Coordinator is in charge of this process for all locations.The responsibilities for this position include the management of the entire detailing shop, including:

  • Management of the workflow with a high level of focus on prioritization of the flow to ensure the highest level of production.
  • Ensuring that vehicles are completed to our quality standards.
  • Ensuring that we are completing vehicles in the required timelines to meet our business plans.
  • Matching workflow to the skill level of each team member.
  • Coordinating training, both initial and ongoing, for all team members.
  • All HR activities for the department including hiring, onboarding, coaching, disciplinary action for all detailing team members.
  • Maintenance of the actual detailing shop, as well as all of our equipment, in order to keep both at a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Order and maintain all the required supplies for the department.
  • Communicate with other team members who are part of the reconditioning process, including our mechanical team, our body shop/painting team and our other team leads.
