You will be a member of Dillon’s Spatial Information Management team within the Planning and Design group, which comprises policy, physical and development planners, urban designers, landscape architects, graphic artists and transportation & transit planners located in our offices across Canada. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our public sector (federal, provincial and municipal), and Indigenous clients.Responsibilities:Provide GIS technical support related to GIS components of operational projects (internal and external) ; GIS support may include data management, spatial analysis, and visualizations in various GIS and data management softwareCollaborate with multidisciplinary project teams including, planners, engineers, scientists, and technologistsProvide support in the development of reports and presentations for multidisciplinary projects, client meetings, and proposalsContribute to the development and management of existing and innovative technical systems, standards and procedures to maintain high standards of efficiency and quality in products and servicesAttend client meetings and conducting field work upon requestBusiness travel to other Dillon offices upon requestQualifications:A degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Science, Engineering or related fieldCompletion of a one year technical program in GISA minimum of 1-3 years’ professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry, or technical program equivalentDemonstrated abilities in use of ESRI GIS software (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)Report writing, organization and interpersonal skillsVersatile, adaptable, and willing to conduct a variety of tasksExperience:Proficient in data compilation, relational database design, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) processesDesigning custom data collection tools and models with automated reportsUsing statistics and machine learning principles to manipulate data and present results from large datasetsUnderstanding of spatial analysis, spatial statistics, remote sensing and working knowledge of ESRI analysis tools (Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst)Development of mobile applications (Survey123, Collector, Field Maps) and ArcGIS Online web applicationsDemonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordinationProficient in the writing of technical reportsStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skillsWorking knowledge of the following programs and programming languages would be considered an asset: AutoCAD, Power BI, Tableau, CityEngine, Python, ArcPy, JavaScript, and ArcadeYoung professionals with less than three years consulting experience have an opportunity to join Dillon Early Career Development (ECD).
