Jody Carr is a certified workplace investigator, and also specializes in wills/estates/probate, property, human rights, disability and public policy.Job descriptionJody Carr Law Office is recruiting a Legal Assistant and Office Coordinator (full-time, permanent position). The Legal Assistant and Office Coordinator will provide administrative support in a fast-paced and growing law practice for Lawyer Jody Carr. The Legal Assistant and Office Coordinator is highly professional, confidential in preparing documents and interacts positively with clients, other offices, Realtors and government agencies. This position is based out of our Fredericton, New Brunswick office with the possibility of working from the Oromocto Office from time to time.Responsibilities Provide administrative support and office coordination for lawyer Jody R. Carr Act as first point of contact at the office; meet and greet visitors, filter incoming calls/emails Prepare legal documents for property transactions and wills and power of attorney documents Be familiar with Law Society Rules and Regulations and applicable legislation and procedures Interact positively with other lawyers offices, lenders, Realtors and government agencies Schedule appointments, maintain contact with existing clients and assist in the recruitment of others Maintain a highly confidential physical work space and electronic client database and filing system Ensure high quality work product by proofreading documents for completeness, grammar, spelling, and errors Prepare cheques for signing, invoicing and account ledgers through Quick Books software Ensure all office equipment and supplies are ordered and available Maintain a well-organized storage and reception area Manage preparation and delivery of shipments for courier, Canada Post and other mail duties Arrange for the delivery and pick up of documents, run errands as requiredQualifications & Experience:  Post-secondary education in a field relevant to legal/administrative support; minimum 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant A motivated self-starter with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, openness to improvement and commitment to quality and growth Attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to remain organized, flexible and responsive to multiple and changing priorities and tight deadlines Strong interpersonal skills that exemplify professional friendliness Advanced proficiency with office technology, including Microsoft Office and Quickbooks Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle necessary for daily work-related duties The successful applicant will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons CheckApplicationProcessLocation: Fredericton, NB37.5hrs/week,salary range $41,000-$46,000 based on experience.Health and Dental benefitsQualified applicants are to forward a cover letter and resume no later than 5pmASTonDecember3,2021to:JodyCarrLawOffice c/oJodyCarrByemail: jody.r.carrgmail.comWe thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Jody Carr Law Office is a fastgrowing law practice owned by Jody Carr, BBA, JD.
